ILAKKANA POONGA, BOMMAI ULAGAM &UNAVU THIRUVIZHA
Department of Tamil at BVM Global Trichy had planned mini-project based learning for the Primary classes 4 and 5 in the month of September, and in the month of August for Secondary.
In the month of August, to make Grammar in Tamil innovative and interesting, students of Class 8 displayed a week-long Grammar Garden for their fellow students of the School to make the learning joyful and practical in Tamil. The Grammar Garden was well received and appreciated by the Students and Teachers community.
On 21st September, 2017 students of class 4 displayed collection of various types of dolls, it was organised to show the kids the different kinds of dolls and to understand the cultural and emotional strength that one can gain through the simple object like Doll. Students also exhibited the cloth made, wooden, spongy and ceramic dolls. Through this project students have come to understand that Salem leads in Doll making industry and the Thanjavur doll - a type of traditional Indian bobblehead or roly-poly toy made of terracotta material is famous across the Globe.
The main focus of UnavuThiruvizha( food festival) held on 22nd September, 2017 was to educate and encourage students on eating in season and traditional grown food, and to popularize and provide a platform for organic farming, food and vegetables which are no longer consumed due to obliviousness about their nutritional values and also due to the entry of Fast Food and Junk Food. This mini project based learning has certainly generated awareness among the students on healthy eating and healthy living.
