Kitchen to Classroom: Learning Through Food

 

BVM Global@Trichy believes in imparting knowledge through different mode of teaching - learning tools. Such was the initiative of the Hindi Department in the month of October on 28thLearning through Food”learning about people and cultures through the foods they prepare and consume; the recipes which have been passed down, shared and adapted over time; and the meaning behind the meal; with an ethnographic approach to food; all in one room and in one day! Class 8 & 9 Students and Teachers of Hindi Department came forward with the display of delicious and delightful delicacies from different states of India. Each recipe carried its own antiquity and productivity that helped the students and the visitors in learning the in depth information and awareness of the culture and custom concealed in the Food. Indeed it was a nourishing and appealing learning for the everyone present.
