A field trip was organised for the grade 4 and 5. The students not only enjoyed sightseeing they were also provided with information regarding the construction of the dam. It was amazing to note that this dam was modeled after Kallanai which was constructed by Karikala Cholan in the 2nd century AD. Sir Arthur Thomas Cottonhad built the Mukkombu dam connecting Kollidam and Cauvery rivers.
