Project day-18-19

Project Day – Planet Earth on 7th December, 2018

Every year we have a special topic to investigate and discover on PROJECT DAY. This year we explored into   “PLANET EARTH” in our campus. Dr. S. Uma, Director, Indian Council of Agricultural Research, ICAR – NCR for Banana graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Why Planet Earth? As we know Earth is the very source of life and our existence. To infuse love for the Land and to create an aesthetic sense among the young generation the School had decided to go with this topic for the Academic Year 2018-19.

Right from the Pre primary wing to Senior Secondary of BVM Global@Trichy had a trail of displays and models. Students and the In-charge Teachers displayed their learning on the respective topics in their allotted Class rooms.

The students of the PRE-KG of BVM Global@Trichy displayed their creative bend of mind on the topic “TRANSPORT”. The little ones from LKG had an array of crafts made from ordinary materials found at home like ice-cream sticks and cardboards transformed magically into Garden and Flowers. The students of UKG exhibited the significance of food insisting the proverb “Health is Wealth”.

Young learners of Grade 1 had designed the model of planet EARTH, they gave a detailed explanation on How life formed in land, water and air. The students of Grade 2 had projected the life of Early Humans. The grade 3 had represented a Timeline of the evolution of life on Earth and marked the important events. The students of grade 4 had routed the way of Migration by early humans. The students of grade 5 presented the concept of Ice Age as a period of time lasting for many thousands of years, during which a lot of the Earth's surface was covered with ice.

The Middle School students of grade 6 explained the History of various Civilization and Architecture .The students of grade 7 displayed the sharing of the planet resources for sustainable development. The students of grade 8 worked on the Natural Disaster which has affected the world in the past and present.

The students of secondary grade 9 had displays on the Current Scenario of the Land in Planet Earth. The students of grade 10 presented the various concepts on Laws of Nature, and the biological changes undergone by the Earth.

The students of senior secondary grade 11 offered the projects on Humanitarian Engineering to meet the needs of communities using modern technology. The students of grade 12 had explored with the science ideas Will human beings ever colonise on other planets? And covered a spectrum of activities from disaster response and preparedness to long-term sustainable community development.

Teachers had played a vital role by igniting the minds of our students to explore further into the sub-topics and to gain expertise and knowledge needed to understand and explain the concepts behind each topic.

We take much pride in saying that the materials used in making of the models were eco-friendly and generously provided by the school.

The Students experienced the Day as an extension of their everyday world where they wondered, discovered and explored different ideas about the planet earth. It has helped in developing patience and perseverance in them and a better understanding of the world around them.
